When I have conversations with friends regarding savings accounts, I normally point them towards a HYSA, as it is more beneficial to earn 3.10% APY on your money than a typical Brick & Mortar savings rate, normally below 1%
I went with American Express HYSA since I have been a customer with them for a while so it's convenient for me, but I've heard good things about Barclays, Ally Bank's HYSA, and SoFI HYSA
However if we're talking about ROI solely, I'll always recommend putting money that isn't being saved for a purpose like vacation, emergency fund, etc. in a Roth IRA, 401k, 403b or any investment account that allows you to invest in the S&P 500 which on average returns 8% annually.
